Project 61 is releasing a new in-app feature in March focused on FUEL, one of the 5 Axles of Health™. The FUEL feature is designed to help drivers build better nutrition consistency without calorie counting, guilt, or unrealistic expectations.
Drivers already understand fuel.
If you put the wrong fuel in your truck, performance drops, breakdowns happen sooner, and everything costs more. Your body works the same way. And in trucking, fuel matters even more than in most jobs because the schedule is demanding, the stress is constant, sleep is inconsistent, and food options are often limited.
Nutrition is not a side topic for drivers. It is a daily lever that affects energy, focus, mood, and long-term health.
The 5 Axles of Health™
Project 61 built the 5 Axles of Health™ as a simple roadmap for staying healthy in a job that makes health harder. FUEL is the starting point for many drivers, but it works best as part of the full system:
More 5 Axles of Health™ functionality is already underway, with additional tools and releases coming throughout 2026.
Why Project 61 is building FUEL
Most nutrition advice was not created for truck drivers.
Drivers do not need more lectures. They need a framework that works in real life, on the road, under pressure, with limited time and imperfect options.
FUEL is one of the few things you can influence every day, even when everything else feels out of your hands. That’s why it matters so much.
FUEL is built around a simple idea: you eat 3 to 4 times a day. That means you have 21 to 28 chances every week to make a slightly better choice. Not perfect choices. Better choices, more often.
Over time, those choices add up.
What the FUEL feature will do
FUEL is not a diet plan. It is a daily checklist that keeps the fundamentals in front of you and makes consistency easier.
One key driver behind this approach is fiber. Fiber is one of the most overlooked tools for driver health, and one of the most powerful. It helps keep you fuller longer, supports steadier energy, and improves digestion, which matters when your day involves long hours sitting and limited food options.
Inside the FUEL feature, drivers will build awareness and habits around the primary sources of good nutrition, including:
The goal is not to hit 100%. The goal is to make the next meal better than it would have been, and repeat that enough times to create momentum.
What drivers can expect
FUEL is designed to help drivers:
And just as important, it removes the mental friction. Drivers should not have to “figure it out” alone.
This feature gives drivers a simple way to stay aware, stay consistent, and build better defaults.
This is not about being perfect
There will be off days. That’s normal.
The goal is not perfection. The goal is a few better choices more often. When FUEL improves, the other Axles get easier. You have more energy to MOVE. Better RECHARGE becomes more realistic. MENTAL DRIVE is easier to protect. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE becomes easier to stay on top of.
That is how long-term change happens in trucking.
